Dresses Over Trousers: Explained

On today's guide to unnecessary layering, I'm going to let you in on a little secret:
I can't control my body temperature. I've never been able to. I don't know why, my doctors and I thought it was due to my hyperthyroidism, and it was. Until it wasn't. Point of the story being: I'm constantly battling between being too hot or too cold, and layers help.

Wearing: CelebLook leather dress, Vintage cow print shirt, Next trousers, Gucci beret, Truffle boots.
The cut of a dress can be such an easy way to cheat proportions. I'm 5'3" so I often go for monochromatic looks to add height. My legs are an average length, but my torso is pretty tiny, so a drop waist dress or a-line skirt can really lengthen out my upper half.

Here are three ways to nail your new favourite trend to take you from Summer to Winter:

-----GO SHORT-----
Match a short flared hemline to cropped flared trousers.

-----GO LONG-----
The quickest way to looking a couple of inches taller. Not having to shave your legs with a sexy maxi dress just adds to the allure.

-----DRESS IT DOWN-----
Just add jeans.
(+Snap these trousers up quick, they just went on sale!)
