The Slip Dress

Constantly finding a way to rework my favourite slip dress.

Karen Millen dress, Wallis coat, Via Spiga boots, Bvlgari earrings
The best thing about this dress is the fact that it seems to give everyone around me fashion amnesia, as nobody ever seems to remember it, despite the serious mileage I've given it throughout the last few years. I dress it up as my back up dress, I wear it with sandals in the summer, and even underneath my favourite white turtleneck during the wintertime. Yes, the white one I seem to live in.
Lately, I've been experimenting with the hemline, keeping it below the knee when paired with heels, or hemming it with a running stitch just above my tan Via Spiga boots to really let the lining come through. It seems like such a waste to keep the floral embroidery hidden, and playing with the hemline is such an easy way to spice up an old classic.

Someone needs to tell January to stop, because this has been the longest month EVER. As I began to write this, my fiancé was watching the weather forecast and was honestly stunned when he remembered that Spring was just around the corner, you know, the one after all the upcoming snow? I've been travelling a lot this year, so I feel like I've been missing out on all the good weather, and have been so jealous of all my friends' Instagram posts. They're either skiing around like the snow bunnies they are, or already getting started on their year round tans in Tulum.

Travelling so much, puts your life in perspective, and gives you some serious lessons in time management. Trying to figure out the right balance between work, friends, and family, has been something that I've been struggling with for years. One of the biggest lessons that works for me is to separate my work and home environment. This needs to be both mentally and physically, and often means taking the time to become more disciplined with the amount of work that gets brought home.

If you're like me, and work from home, you become a stricter person in order to section off an area to become your work zone. Worse still, you have to force yourself to be more organized in order to stop any workload spreading throughout your house. I find that being able to close off your sanctuary makes it easy to schedule time with other people, but most importantly, yourself.

The Secret to my Winter Glow

While everyone is embracing the "couture" skincare trend in 2017,  I'm bringing it back to basics with the skincare brand that works for everyone's skin type- oh, and they're vegan friendly.

Products featured: 24K Eye Elixir, Glowtion Day Dew, Glow Mist, Beauty Sleep Cream.
If you have been following me on Instagram, you might have seen me unboxing my Pixi Beauty skin treats before London Fashion Week Mens. I have been using these products for nearly a month now, so I decided to share the secrets to my winter glow, tips regarding the application, and what I have found to work for me.
The products below are used after my everyday cleansing routine.

Pixi’s anti-ageing 24K Eye Elixir gets rid puffiness, while collagen and wrinkle-reducing peptides encourage repair and diminish fine lines and dark circles. The ultimate cult luxury product as it treats your undereyes with real gold. I love the rollerball applicator as it instantly soothes puffy eyes, the product brightens my undereye area but does not completely get rid of my dark circles. However, the product creates a barrier and stops makeup from creasing, priming the skin perfectly to apply concealer to hereditary dark circles.
One of my biggest tips is to keep depuffing products in the fridge, the 24K Eye Elixir greatly benefits from this, and can be like sleep in a bottle.

The secret weapon to keeping dull skin at bay. The Day Dew is incredibly lightweight, but nourishes throughout the day. This is one of those products that you can use on its own, or beneath makeup. The product is immediately absorbed into the skin, and blurs any imperfections with a pearlescent sheen. This is one of those products that you can use on its own, or beneath makeup.
With a blend of Lavender Oil, and Kaolin, I use this product to wake up my senses to the smell of lavender and calm any redness in the skin.

I'm a huge fan of oils, and the Glow Mist has 13 of them, each leaving skin softer than the last. This is without a doubt one of my favourite products, and is always in my bag. In fact, when I finally get around to do the "What's in my bag?", you guys keep asking for, you'll probably find a couple of half used bottles of the Glow Mist, just like you would water. I use the Glow Mist as a makeup primer, a setting spray, and whenever I feel like my skin needs a pick me up. During fashion week, I can be wearing the same face of makeup for over sixteen hours, and by the tenth (if I'm being oh-so-generous) it has pretty much cracked and needs some serious refreshing, I spritz my face and neck until my makeup feels like skin again.

As mentioned above, I'm a huge fan of oils, and often use a combination of custom made oils for my skin type. However, during the last month, I have found my skin getting drier, -looking at you, winter- and decided to use a night cream. I usually don't use night creams more than once a week as they can be too rich, and start to clog pores. However, the Beauty Sleep Cream felt just as lightweight as the Day Dew, and calms my mind before bed with its slightly stronger (but still extremely mild) lavender scent. I was initially disappointed that it didn't leave my skin with the same pearlescent glow as the morning cream, but found the next morning's results to be more than worth it. My skin absorbs the soothing, hydrating cream, and most of the redness has disappeared. I now wake up to virtually poreless, semi-matte skin, as if lit from within.
