Alla Città

Over-the-knee boots have been making the rounds for a couple of years now, but as a tiny human at 5'3", I've had to turn down a lot of beautiful samples as they ended ended half way up my high and mostly doubled up as some very fancy chaps. So as soon as I saw these little over-the-knee/ on-the-knee boots by Via Spiga I knew I had to get them. I was undecided between brown or cream boots so went to my cobbler to see what could be done to turn my boots into my boots, and we settled on a golden tan and shortened the tops by an inch so they hit my legs mid knee. Trying them on for the first time was a ridiculous experience, as I never thought I'd be able to see the inches that my legs are obviously missing.

Zara dress, Via Spiga boots, Guess bag, Topshop hat.
For those of you who are thinking of dying your suede goods, one thing to consider is that just like hair- it's a lot easier to go darker than it is lighter. It's always a good idea to go to the flagship shop and talk to a professional about dying them first, as they might be able to offer a custom dye job. Alternatively you could go to your local cobbler and talk about different dyes and processes, but if you're only going one or two shades lighter then it might be worth fading them by putting them near a window in the natural light.
